SC-Kamareddi trip report 28-10-2007

The line from SC has towards Ajmer had always been a MG section and in the last 20 years it has become BG, the last link in the line was the Bollarum-Nizamabad section which was opened sometime back. Having done the MG line many times to Nizamabad, i decided to do the BG line for a change. PVS, VSP Tejender and myself were part of it, PVS came to my place at 4.15 am and we left at 4.28 am to SC and were in SC station at 4.33 am with an average better than a rajdhani, quickly picking up 4 tickets for Rs 76, we went to the DHMU rake on PF no -9, dakshin express was to arrive at 6 am late by 1hr 50 min. VSP and Tejender joined us and we spotted a LGD WAP4 22596 wishing us good morning in the deserted station. Click on the images for viewing them in larger sizes.
VSP wanted a picture of his with the WAP4 and i took him posing before the WAP4
Our DHMU was berthed on PF 9 and we took some snaps before it in the still silence of SC at 4.45 am.

We got the starter signal and the driver gave a loud toot and we all clambered into the first coach, while PVS was a bit drowsy VSP ensured a good diet of SCR timetables for breakfast....

We were off at 4.52 am and silenty pulled out of sc station and climbed up the ramp towards Lallaguda Gate station after crossing the Kazipet main line. The scheduled halt of the train was at Malkajgiri and we sped through Lallaguda station and reached Malkagiri 2 min before time at 5.03 am. Slowly pulling out of Malkajgiri which had a small crowd of early morning travellers, we headed towards Bollaraum which was out next halt. The DHMU showed it efficiency by picking up speed very quickly and we crossed the goods bypass line at Ammguda which was vacant in the early hours. Bollarum saw the gang scampering for tea and a long halt also meant we could strecth out legs out on the platform. Dawn was begining to break and we left Bollarun station accompanied by the sweet sounds of birds waking up to see a brand new day and the DHMU whirring up it power pack. I felt like singing Bryan Adams song from the animated movie Spirit. But seeing the other passengers deep in slumber i restrained myself and let them have some sanity as well!!!!!!!!!! There was a long halt at Gowdvalli station as we waited for the passenger train to cross, also the krishna express to Tirupati crossed us as well.

Now began some high speed running and i never experienced the DHMU in this style, for all the 14 years i have been travelling in them we were doing 90 kmph and rarely slowing down. While all this was happening it began to get cold and we had to down the shutters not before taking this snap
Soon plans on how to attend CNB 2008 were being discussed and all the planning on return ticketing were on, and in this time we reached Mirzapalli which i remember from my MG trips on this line. Short halt and back to 90 kmph as seen here

At Bhiknoor we were held up for the incoming Manmad express to SC which now runs via Nizamabad.
Of all the pictures i took i don't know why i loved this shot so much, i am generally not very happy with my pictures and always want to make them better, but i loved this snap a lot. The train was a bit slow at 60 kmph. An uneventful run till Kamareddi marked the end of the trip by rail, i have been on this when it was MG many times this was my first tryst with BG and i feel MG had it own beauty on this stretch. Here are some pictures at Kamareddi station.
Return journey was made by a RTC super luxury bus back to SC and we were back in SC by 11.15 am. Thanks to PVS, VSP and Teju for this nice trip down the MG memory lane.....
Hope you enjoyed reading see you later .........
